81 km - 1000 m / 50 mi - 3,300 ft - Weekly Rides - Saturday - Sunday

- City Washington
Starting off in historic Georgetown we will pass by 150+ year old homes before heading outside of the city into Maryland. The 1st 15 miles are relatively flat, making it good for some pace lining if the group would like, before tackling the 1 mile climb up Old Anglers. From there we ride through back roads of Potomac which are well known by the DC cycling community. Our 1st stop is at mile 21 in Travilah. Then we circle back through some neighborhoods of Potomac, including riding past Congressional Country Club (home of 2 US Opens & numerous PGA tour stops) before heading back into DC, where we will ride the Massachusetts climb (.5mi) and Loughboro climb (1mi), before making our way back into Georgetown

Jason – WashingtonJason is a DC area native with lots of group riding and race experience. I enjoy spending time on my bike as much as possible. When I am off the bike, I am hiking, skiing and snowboarding or seeing live music. I enjoy both spirited, challenging rides that push my limits as well as conversational and social rides. I am interested in furthering cycling as a sport and as a hobby!
Matt – WashingtonMatt is an avid cyclist and triathlete. Always looking for the next cycling adventure, travelling to new countries and cities and viewing them on two wheels - his motto is "betterbybike" He's cycled in France, Austria, Spain, and Italy but loves the the local rides in the Virginia and Maryland area just as much. When not cycling or training for triathlons, he's still on the go, enjoying short weekend trips exploring new towns by bike and on foot. As well as the cycling he loves to learn about the history of the areas he visits. Washington, DC has a rich history so you can enjoy the great cycling of this fabulous city and the added bonus of a little history lesson.
Kiera – WashingtonKiera grew up in the Washington, DC area and often biked from the suburbs into the city while growing up. After college, she biked across the United States from Baltimore, MD to Portland, OR on a charity ride raising money and awareness for young adults with cancer. She has also biked the C&O Canal, from northwestern Maryland back to DC, and completed several centuries around the DC area. She has sampled some mountain biking and fixed gear cycling, but mostly sticks to her cross-country veteran Cannondale road bike. When not on her bike, Kiera can most likely be found training for her first marathon, cooking vegetarian, and continuing to explore DC. She’s excited to show GCR visitors her hometown!
