Challenge yourself on this popular loop through the rolling hills of North County San Diego. Elfin Forest, also called Swami’s Loop, is the route of one of the longest standing and very fast Saturday group rides in San Diego. From our starting point, we head north on Pacific Coast Highway through the funky community of Leucadia, and then east along Batiquitos Lagoon to the start of the rollers up to San Elijo Hills. The turn to Elfin Forest Road brings us immediately into the beauty and quiet of the area so close to the populous towns we just left. Continuing through Elfin Forest we roll alongside Escondido Creek to “The Church”, the regrouping point for the group ride and a great water stop. More rolling hills, some bigger than others, await us continuing on to Lake Hodges as we wind our way back towards the coast, passing through Rancho Santa Fe and Solana Beach. From here, it’s a nice cool-down up the coast with great views of the Pacific. Join us on this beautiful, hilly, and famous San Diego ride!
