A local favorite, Mandeville Canyon is a popular out-and-back climb near Santa Monica. Our local ride leaders will guide you through, to get the most of out this ride during your tight weekday schedule. This ride includes Road Bike Rental Los Angeles, with other options and durations available by emailing us at info@GlobalCycleRides.com. We roll-out from Santa Monica Boulevard and take some quiet neighborhood streets up to the Veterans Park, before jumping on to the tree-lined San Vincente Blvd with it’s wide bike lanes.
This is LA, so you might get to see a famous actor! as the route takes you on some familiar sounding streets such as the famous Sunset Boulevard, although, we understand GCR Riders are much too cool to be star spotting… it’s all about the ride!
After a very brief visit onto Sunset Boulevard, which is often traffic heavy, we start the climb, which takes us up and through a quiet residential area with plenty of tree cover. We descend back down to Sunset before heading down to Ocean Boulevard via some great iconic views of the Pacific. The return route has plenty of café options, then it’s back to San Vincente.

Paul – Los AngelesPaul is a Scotsman living in LA. Working in creative industries has seen him living (and riding) in some great locations including London, Houston and Den Haag. He‘s a Cat 1 mountain biker and has also road-raced for several years in the UK and US. He’s a veteran of classic rides such as The Etape du Tour and Marmotte in France, and Colorado’s Leadville. Paul’s other passion is filmmaking, so when he’s not riding up and down the beaches or hitting the Hollywood Hills and Topanga Canyon, he’s probably behind a camera or working with his production team. Paul is passionate about riding in Los Angeles, and he knows the best coffee stops for those early morning kick starts!
Jesse – Los AngelesJesse is a well travelled professional musician and free lance visual artist who enjoys a lifestyle catered to cycling! (Wouldn't we all want to say that!) Growing up in New England it was all about mountain biking but when he moved to San Francisco he fell in love with single speed and track bikes then road bikes. When he's not painting or playing music, you can find him wrenching on bikes, studying maps and climbing the canyons of Los Angeles. He prides himself on having fun and seeking adventure as a cyclist and now he is really keen to share his passion for showing cyclists new terrain and routes on the amazing roads and views in the city of LA.
Los Angeles Road Bike Rental includes the following bike.
A Scott Speedster 20, 2015. 11spd, 105 build, Alloy frame with a carbon fork for dampening on the road.
NOTE: Multiple spaces are available on GCR rides, but due to your specific profile and bike sizing requirements, bookings can only be made individually.
