Cyclists in Chicago looking for longer, faster rides all head to the North Shore, and the cycling routes centered around Sheridan Road. Sheridan Road is a major north-south thoroughfare that leads from Diversey Parkway in Chicago, Illinois, north to the Illinois-Wisconsin border and beyond to Racine, Wisconsin. Throughout most of its run, it is the easternmost north-south through street, closest to Lake Michigan. From Chicago, it passes through Chicago’s wealthy lakeside North Shore suburbs, and then Waukegan and Zion, until it reaches the Illinois-Wisconsin state line in Winthrop Harbor. Sites along the way include these notable architectural treasures: The Baha’i House of Worship, two Frank Lloyd Wright designed homes, Plaza De Largo, Northwestern University, and Ravinia Festival.

Ryan – ChicagoA Chicago resident of 25 years and a graduate of DePaul University (BS, College of Commerce), Ryan left the corporate world of media sales to pursue a passion for music and has worked as a DJ and occasional funky drummer ever since. After ditching the 9-5 he discovered a love of serious athletics and developed into a competitive marathon runner, triathlete, and cyclist. The bike quickly became his main focus and Ryan now works days at one of the city’s largest bike shops. He logged nearly 6,000 miles on the bike last year and is on pace to best that this year. Ryan knows the city and scene like few other cyclists and can’t wait to ride with you.
Drew – ChicagoDrew has been cycling since he moved back to Chicago in 2007. He is a founding member of Cut Cats Courier; arguably the largest (and raddest) rider owned & operated cycle courier service in the USA. As a result he is on the bike 300+ days per year. Between camping/touring, criteriums, group rides, CX races, & work he typically logs well over 10.000mi. annually. Working as a courier has allowed him to burrow his way into the Chicago coffee, music, beer, & restaurant industries; all of which are increasingly driven by guys and gals who are avid cyclists. This, paired with his intimate knowledge of Chicago’s streets allows him to paint an in-depth & eclectic portrait of his fair city!
