- City Barcelona
Tibidabo is a really nice ride especially for nature lovers and climbers (not of the green variety!) Starting from the heart of the city we discover the Passeig de Gràcia, maybe the most famous street in Barcelona with its luxury shops and iconic buildings like La Pedrera, Casa Batlló, Casa Ametller. After this enjoyable warm up, we will start on the first hill climb, Forat del Vent. This is 7km in length with an average slope of 4%, but with 2 breaks in the middle that allow you to see great views of Barcelona city. It has typical Mediterranean vegetation, with pines and evergreen shrubs along the ascent, but once at the top, the descent is totally different – here oaks and lush vegetation surround you & it looks like a different mountain!
After the climb, a welcome flat section takes us from Cerdanyola to Sant Cugat del Vallés, a beautiful city with its monastery and a good place to take a coffee before the second hill climb. L’Arrabassada is probably the most famous hill near Barcelona, with Tibidabo Park at its peak. At 504 meters this is the highest hill from the city. The slope is always uniform, with no high ramps and the climb is worth it. At the top we are rewarded with a panoramic view of Barcelona, from the port to the mountain and all along the coast! After this, another descent to the city, and an easy ride back to the start. Eso es!
